All paid staff and volunteers are interviewed, vetted, and trained to ensure they are prepared for their positions at Camp.

Waterfront

Head Lifeguard

The Head Lifeguard is responsible for managing all operations of our open ocean waterfront program. They are in charge of program development, water safety, ongoing rescue training, and delegating tasks to the other lifeguards.

Qualifications:
-NLS required (beach option an asset)
-Standard First Aid & CPRC
-Pleasure Craft Operator Card
-Boating experience an asset

Assistant Lifeguards

The assistant lifeguards are also responsible for program development, water safety, as well as supporting the needs of the Head Lifeguard.

Qualifications:
-NLS required (beach option an asset)
-Standard First Aid & CPRC
-Pleasure Craft Operator Card
-Boating experience an asset

Kitchen Staff

Head Cook

Responsible for providing food services for up to 175 people per meal and leading a kitchen crew of 5 others.

Qualifications:
-Food Safe level 2
-Standard First Aid
-WHIMIS
-Experience cooking for large groups

Assistant Head Cook

Responsible for assisting the Head Cook in all areas of food services. Will act as main cook in Head Cook’s absence.

Qualifications:
-Food Safe level 1 (level 2 an asset)
-Standard First Aid
-WHIMIS

Special Diets Cook

Responsible for preparing menus and meals for campers and staff with special dietary needs. Will also be responsible for preparing and serving regular camp meals and general kitchen clean up.

Qualifications:
-Food Safe level 1 (level 2 an asset)
-Standard First Aid
-WHIMIS
-Experience preparing vegetarian/vegan/allergy-aware meals

Kitchen Helpers

Responsible for assisting the Head Cook in all areas of food services including: food preparation, catering to special diets, and kitchen clean up.

Qualifications:
-Food Safe level 1 (level 2 an asset)
-Standard First Aid
-WHIMIS

Grounds Keeping

Maintenance

Responsible for janitorial cleaning, general grounds upkeep, and some building projects.

Qualifications:
-Must have a minimum class 7N driver’s license
-Standard First Aid
-WHIMIS
-Previous construction or other related experiences an asset

Outdoor Recreation

Program Assistant

Responsible for programming outdoor and other activities for children, youth, and adults.

Qualifications:
-Experience in Nature Education required
-Experience with Archery
-Standard First Aid
-Belay certification

First Aid Attendant

Responsible for the health and safety of all campers and staff.

Qualifications:
-Provincially recognized graduate of a first aid course of over 35 hours (ex. OFA level 3, WorkSafe BC, Wilderness First Aid)
